DESIGNED TO HARNESS
THE POWER OF THE WIND
The Aero Wing Sail is an innovative sailing system designed to harness the power of the wind, enabling a more sustainable means of propulsion. It is crafted with ease of use, comfort, and design flexibility in mind. The Aero Wing Sail is suitable for multihulls and windassisted applications, allowing every yacht owner to benefit from its advantages.
Wind is a free and sustainable source of energy, available everywhere and independent of infrastructure. By harnessing it, yachts can significantly reduce their energy demand and more easily adopt sustainable fuels, even when these are less energy-dense.
THE ADVANTAGES
Compared to alternative sustainable propulsion technologies, the Aero Wing Sail offers:
- Efficiency: removes or drastically reduces fuel consumption while underway
- Autonomy: be independent of infrastructure and the availability of fuels
- Compact: increases range without consuming internal volume
Compared to a conventional rig, the Aero Wing Sail provides the following advantages:
- Quickly sailing: be under sail within 10 seconds with the push of a button
- User-friendly & comfortable: automated control simplifies handling and regulates roll
- Clean: no stays, lines, or winches required
- Low maintenance and cost-effective: fewer components mean reduced wear, with no need for sail replacement
The Aero Wing Sail can achieve an incredible lift coefficient of up to 3.1 and a lift-to-drag ratio of 20, while still maintaining a significant lift coefficient of 1.8.
HOW IT WORKS
The Aero Wing Sail is crafted from lightweight composite materials, similar in fabrication to an aircraft wing. It is free-standing with the
ability to rotate fully around its vertical axis. Multiple flaps adjust the camber to control the wing’s power. To depower, these flaps can twist along the span, even inverting at the top if needed to create a righting moment. When at rest, the wing feathers freely, and when desired, it can be tilted horizontally.

1. Same performance with 50% of the area
2. Unstayed and infinite rotation
3. Individual flap control to manage twist and power
4. Feathering when stationary
5. Tiltable
TAILORED TO YOUR PROJECT
The Aero Wing Sail is available in a range of sizes and style-to order in dedicated regions to suit different yacht designs and performance requirements. The overview on the right page shows the span, sail area, root chord, driving force at 15 knots of wind, and the corresponding required beam. This flexibility allows the Aero Wing Sail to be seamlessly adapted to your yacht design.
