   EXCEPTIONAL POWER FOR
IMMENSE LOADS

Engineered for supersized rigs and advanced sails

In today’s maritime industry, modern winches are required to deliver exceptional power to manage the immense loads imposed by supersized rigs and sails, which are often crafted using cutting-edge sail-making technologies. The demands on these winches are higher than ever, requiring a perfect balance between strength, safety, and ease of maintenance. Rondal rises to this challenge by employing state-of-the-art materials and the latest technological advancements, resulting in winches that are not only smaller and lighter but also faster and more efficient.

Elektric or hydraulic: the Rondal captive reel winch

Unmatched performance for high-load applications

The Rondal captive reel winch stands out for its exceptional power and ability to endure extremely high loads, making it a crucial component for performance-oriented superyachts. Available in both electric or hydraulic power options, this winch provides the versatility needed to suit various operational requirements. Crafted from carbon and designed with weight efficiency in mind, the Rondal winch offers a unique combination of strength and lightness, which is vital for yachts where every kilogram counts. Whether choosing the electric or hydraulic version, each winch is engineered to deliver reliable performance under the most demanding conditions.

Advanced technology for enhanced efficiency

Optimizing power and performance onboard

Rondal’s winches are more than just powerful; they are designed with advanced technologies that enhance overall system efficiency. The peak shaving technology not only manages power distribution effectively but also contributes to a greener and more self-sufficient energy system on board. Additionally, the integration of feeders that work in harmony with the winches ensures continuous line tension, creating a perfect coil around the drum every time. This meticulous attention to detail results in a winch system that is both highly reliable and easy to maintain, crucial for the demanding environments in which these superyachts operate.

Conclusion: meeting the demands of modern sailing technology

The ideal choice for technically demanding superyachts

Rondal’s winches represent the pinnacle of modern engineering, designed to meet the exacting demands of today’s superyacht industry. By combining exceptional power with lightweight materials, advanced technologies, and versatile power options (electric or hydraulic), these winches provide the perfect solution for managing the high loads associated with modern rigs and sails. For engineers and shipyard professionals, Rondal’s winches offer a reliable, efficient, and technologically advanced option that enhances both performance and safety on board.

   A FEEDER IS DESIGNED TO
GUIDE AND TENSION THE LINE

Winches are typically located below deck with lines guided to deck exits using blocks and sheaves, maintaining tension to prevent tangling. A feeder, positioned at the deck exit, directs the line towards various components or the winch. It's designed to guide and tension the line but not to increase pulling force – that's the winch's role. Hydraulics drive the feeder wheel, with a motor connected to the main shaft. The feeder wheel is coated for optimal line friction, and pressure rollers can be adjusted via a rubber spring damper. The feeder is mounted on the ship's structure with a deck cover for protection.
